5-Day Luxury Safari Big Five Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrive at Waterberg Biosphere Reserve
Adventure in the wild tour guide will meet you at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport and drive you three hours to the malaria-free, Big Five Kaingo Game Reserve. It is located in the Waterberg Region, one of the world's few UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserves and the only one dedicated to savannas. When you arrive at this traditional safari lodge, made of natural stone with thatch roofing, you will be greeted with beverages and food. After settling in, you will go on a sunset game drive to see the grandeur of the African wilderness and its exotic species. Then, you'll return to the lodge for supper, surrounded by the unequaled orchestra and choir of the wild African night, making your first night in the bush a memorable experience. Your overnight stay will be at the Royal Morubisi Lodge.

Day 2 :
Waterberg Biosphere Reserve
If you want to view animals when they are most active, you must get up before dawn in the cold early mornings or late afternoons. You will be offered strong coffee and handmade rusks, one of South Africa's most famous treats, to get you through your game drive to breakfast. Each day, after breakfast, you can relax, go swimming, or take a sleep. You can also choose to reserve one of the recommended activities. After lunch, you will go on a wildlife drive at twilight before returning to the resort for a sumptuous supper. Your overnight stay will be at the Royal Morubisi Lodge.

Day 3 :
Waterberg Biosphere Reserve
The malaria-free Kaingo Game Reserve is home to Africa's iconic and most dangerous wild animals: lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards, as well as over 50 other mammal species and over 350 bird species. Furthermore, the Royal Morubisi is only 55 kilometers from the core of the Waterberg Region, with the magnificent Mokolo River winding through its stunning scenery. Your daily dawn and sunset game drives are the greatest opportunity to see the reserve's breathtaking beauty and animals. Your overnight stay will take place at Royal Morubisi Lodge.

Day 4 :
Waterberg Biosphere Reserve
Every game drive is distinct and surprising. Sunset game drives often involve stops for "sundowners" as the sun sets before supper. You'll have supper beneath the southern night sky, which is flooded with stars and dazzling constellations seldom seen in the Northern Hemisphere. On your last day, You'll get up early for one more morning game drive to look for any creatures you haven't seen. You'll savor your final minutes in this breathtaking wilderness before leaving with memories that last a lifetime. Depending on your schedule, you'll have a hearty and substantial breakfast at the resort before heading to Johannesburg Airport.
