Early Morning Departure: Leave your accommodation in Mombasa or Nairobi early (around 5:30 AM) for a morning game drive at Tsavo East National Park. If you’re staying nearby, you can enter the park as it opens. Game Drive (6:30 AM- 10:30 AM): Begin your safari adventure with a guided game drive. Tsavo East is known for its red-dust elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and the impressive Yatta Plateau (the world’s longest lava flow). Keep an eye out for buffalo, cheetahs, and various bird species. Aruba Dam: A great stop during the morning drive for spotting wildlife that congregates near the water. This is also a beautiful spot for photos. Midday: Late Morning Break (10:30 AM- 11:00 AM): Stop at a designated picnic or rest area. Enjoy some snacks and refreshments while taking in the expansive views of the savannah. Visit Lugard Falls (11:30 AM–12:30 PM): After your break, head towards Lugard Falls, where the Galana River rushes through rocky formations, creating scenic views. Afternoon: Lunch (12:30 PM - 1:30 PM): Have lunch at one of the park’s lodges like Voi Safari Lodge or Satao Camp, which offer excellent meals and views of waterholes where wildlife gathers. Afternoon Game Drive (2:00 PM–4:30 PM): Continue exploring the park during an afternoon game drive. This is a great time to catch lions lounging under trees or see other animals like antelopes and warthogs. Evening: Depart from the Park (4:30 PM-5:00 PM): Head out of the park and return to your accommodation in Mombasa or Nairobi. This itinerary provides a full day of exploring the stunning landscapes and wildlife that Tsavo East has to offer.
