Transfer from Kigali into the Musanze / Kinigi area. Settle into your lodge, confirm briefing times, and rest legs for the days ahead. Pack a dry bag and sturdy boots—Bisoke will use them.
4 Day Rwanda Gorilla & Bisoke Hike
Rwanda · Gorilla trek + Bisoke crater hike
Tour overview
Four days for travelers who want both the emotional hit of gorilla trekking and a proper mountain day on Mount Bisoke—the crater hike that rewards with a lake cupped in the volcano’s summit. Based near Volcanoes National Park, you keep travel light: arrive from Kigali, trek gorillas, hike Bisoke, then return.
Bisoke is a sustained uphill hike (often 4–6 hours return depending on pace and conditions)—muddy, steep in places, and weather-prone. It suits guests who are comfortable walking. The gorilla permit remains the main park cost (RDB fees are set officially; foreign non-resident rates are commonly around USD 1,500), and a separate Bisoke hiking permit / park fee applies. We confirm both when booking.
Lodges such as Volcanoes Safari Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View, Le Bambou, or top-tier Bisate / Sabyinyo keep you close to trailheads. More Rwanda ideas live on our Rwanda safaris page.
