15 Days Uganda Adventure Safari

Your adventure begins when you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will meet your safari guide and receive a warm welcome to Uganda.

After completing the airport formalities, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe. Since international flights arrive at different times, the first day is intentionally kept relaxed.

If you arrive early, you can enjoy a gentle introduction to Entebbe, perhaps exploring the lakeside surroundings or taking a relaxing walk. Alternatively, you can simply settle into the hotel and rest after your journey.

Your guide will also brief you about the upcoming safari, including the different destinations, wildlife experiences and trekking activities.

After breakfast, your adventure officially begins as you leave Entebbe and travel north toward Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

The drive introduces you to Uganda's countryside, passing through villages, farms, roadside markets and local communities. The landscape gradually changes as you move away from the capital toward northern Uganda.

At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will join an experienced ranger for a guided rhino-tracking experience. Unlike a traditional game drive, this activity allows you to explore on foot while searching for Uganda's white rhinoceroses.

The ranger will explain the conservation work taking place at the sanctuary and help you understand rhino behavior and habitat.

After the experience, continue toward Murchison Falls National Park. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in and relax.

Wake up early for your first major wildlife experience.

After breakfast, head into the savannah for a morning game drive. The early hours provide excellent conditions for wildlife viewing as animals are often active before the heat of the day becomes intense.

As you explore the park, you may encounter elephants crossing the plains, giraffes feeding among the trees, buffaloes gathering in large herds and Uganda kob grazing in open areas.

Your guide will also keep a close eye out for predators such as lions.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, board a boat along the Victoria Nile and cruise toward the bottom of Murchison Falls. The riverbanks are home to hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and numerous bird species.

The cruise eventually reaches the powerful falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge.

Return to your lodge after the cruise for dinner.

After breakfast, leave Murchison Falls and begin the journey toward Fort Portal.

Although today involves a long drive, it provides an opportunity to see another side of Uganda. The road takes you through rural communities, agricultural areas, towns and changing landscapes.

As you approach western Uganda, the scenery becomes greener, with rolling hills and tea plantations appearing along the route.

Fort Portal is known for its beautiful countryside, crater lakes and views toward the Rwenzori Mountains.

Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxed evening.

After breakfast, travel toward Kibale Forest National Park, one of Uganda's best destinations for chimpanzee trekking.

Upon arrival, you will receive a briefing from the park guides before entering the forest.

The trek takes you beneath the dense tropical canopy as you search for a habituated chimpanzee community. Along the way, your guide will identify different tree species, birds, monkeys and other signs of forest life.

Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend time observing their natural behavior. They may be feeding, grooming, communicating, climbing through the trees or moving through the forest.

After the trek, return to your accommodation for lunch and relaxation.

After breakfast, you will leave the Kibale Forest area and begin the scenic drive toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is one of the easiest park-to-park connections on a western Uganda safari, with the route taking you through beautiful countryside, tea plantations, crater-lake landscapes and small rural communities. The road transfer generally takes around 4-5 hours, depending on your lodge location, the Queen Elizabeth sector you are heading to, road conditions and stops along the way.

Rather than treating this as simply a transfer day, the journey itself becomes part of the experience. After leaving Kibale's dense forest environment, the scenery gradually opens into the savannah landscapes surrounding Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, you can have lunch at the lodge before settling in or proceeding for an afternoon game drive, depending on your arrival time.

Start the morning with a game drive through the Kasenyi Plains.

The open savannah provides opportunities to encounter elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs, waterbucks and other wildlife. Your guide will search for lions and other predators as you explore.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation.

In the afternoon, enjoy the famous Kazinga Channel boat cruise.

The channel attracts huge concentrations of hippos and provides excellent opportunities to see crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes along the shoreline.

The cruise also offers excellent birdwatching opportunities.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an evening of relaxation.

After breakfast, travel toward the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions, and your guide will explore the area in search of these remarkable predators.

You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, topi and other wildlife during the game drive.

After exploring Ishasha, continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The scenery changes dramatically as you enter southwestern Uganda, with steep green hills, terraced farms and dense forests creating a spectacular landscape.

Arrive at your lodge and prepare for the following day's gorilla trek.

Today is one of the biggest highlights of your entire Uganda adventure.

After an early breakfast, you will travel to the gorilla trekking briefing point. Rangers will provide information about safety, gorilla behavior and responsible trekking practices.

You will then enter Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of your assigned gorilla family.

The trek can be challenging because of the forest's steep and sometimes muddy terrain. The duration also varies because the gorillas move naturally through their habitat.

When you finally locate the family, you will have the opportunity to observe these extraordinary animals as they feed, groom, communicate, play and interact with one another.

After the permitted viewing time, trek back through the forest and return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

After breakfast, leave Bwindi and travel toward the spectacular Lake Bunyonyi.

The winding roads through southwestern Uganda offer some of the country's most beautiful scenery, with terraced hills, valleys and small communities spread across the landscape.

Upon reaching Lake Bunyonyi, settle into your accommodation and enjoy lunch.

Later, take a boat or traditional canoe ride across the lake. The experience offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the many islands scattered across the water.

After several days of trekking and wildlife activities, this is a perfect day to slow down and enjoy Uganda's peaceful highlands.

After breakfast, leave Lake Bunyonyi and continue toward Lake Mburo National Park.

The scenery gradually changes as you descend from the highlands toward Uganda's savannah country.

Upon arrival at Lake Mburo, have lunch before beginning an afternoon game drive.

The park is particularly well known for zebras, impalas, elands, topi, buffaloes, giraffes and other antelopes.

The combination of acacia woodland, grasslands and wetlands creates a beautiful setting for photography.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner.

Today allows you to experience Lake Mburo from a different perspective.

After an early breakfast, take part in a guided nature or walking safari. Walking through the park gives you the opportunity to appreciate smaller details that can easily be missed from a vehicle, including tracks, plants, insects, birds and animal signs.

You may encounter zebras and antelopes at relatively close range while accompanied by an experienced guide.

After the walking experience, return for lunch and later enjoy another game drive through the park.

This provides another opportunity to photograph giraffes, zebras, impalas, buffaloes and other wildlife.

Spend your final evening around the park enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

After breakfast, leave Lake Mburo and begin the journey toward Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda.

The drive takes you through Uganda's changing countryside, with rural settlements, plantations and towns along the route.

Upon reaching Jinja, check into your accommodation and have lunch.

The afternoon can be used for a relaxed introduction to the town, perhaps exploring its streets, craft shops or the beautiful Nile surroundings.

Jinja offers a completely different atmosphere from the national parks and gives the safari an exciting final chapter.

Today is dedicated to exploring Jinja and the Source of the Nile.

After breakfast, visit the Source of the Nile and enjoy a boat experience on the river. Learn about the historical and geographical significance of the area while taking in the surrounding scenery.

For travelers looking for more adventure, Jinja offers optional activities such as white-water rafting, kayaking, quad biking, horseback riding and bungee jumping, depending on availability and the chosen package.

If you prefer a slower day, you can spend more time exploring Jinja town, visiting local craft markets or relaxing beside the river.

Return to your accommodation in the evening for your final night of the safari.
