2 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from Kampala or Entebbe.

You'll travel north through Uganda's countryside, passing through towns, villages, farms and roadside markets as you make your way toward Murchison Falls National Park.

The drive takes approximately 5–7 hours, depending on your starting point, stops and road conditions. A lunch stop can be made along the way before continuing toward the park.

If you want to add rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, this can be incorporated into the journey, although it will make the day longer.

Upon reaching Murchison Falls National Park, continue toward the Paraa area and check into your accommodation.

After lunch and a short rest, head to the Nile for your afternoon boat cruise.

The cruise takes you downstream toward the base of Murchison Falls, giving you excellent opportunities to see hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and waterbirds along the riverbanks.

As you approach the falls, you'll see the Nile being forced through its narrow gorge before plunging dramatically below.

After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

If time allows, you can also visit the top of Murchison Falls either before or after the boat cruise, depending on the route and timing.

Wake up early and have breakfast before heading out for your morning game drive.

The early morning is ideal for wildlife viewing because many animals are active before the temperatures rise.

Your guide will explore the park's savannah tracks in search of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, waterbucks, warthogs and other antelopes.

There is also the possibility of encountering lions, while leopards are present but much more difficult to spot.

Spend several hours exploring the park before beginning your journey out.

After the game drive, leave Murchison Falls and begin the return journey toward Kampala or Entebbe.
