10-Day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari

Upon arrival at the , our company driver will welcome you and pick you up. Then drive you to the hotel in Kampala/Entebbe for dinner and overnight stay.

In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel after morning breakfast. Then drive southwestwards to L. Mburo National Park. Enroute you will have a brief stop at the equator for photographs. Proceed to the lodge and on arrival, you will have lunch and brief rest. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise on L. Mburo anticipating to see some hippos, crocodiles and some water birds and later in the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Rise up early for morning breakfast and after, proceed with a game drive in search for zebras, elands, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, Topis among others and if luck is on your side, a leopard may cross your way. You will later transfer further south to Bwindi NP, arriving in the evening. Drive and check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, head out to the park headquarters for briefing and gorilla group allocation. In a group of 8 trackers, you will be accompanied by the ranger guides for the start of the trek. The trek may last for about 2-6 hours. Upon encountering the gorilla family, you will be allowed an hour to view and take photographs before returning to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa community living in surrounding areas of the park. Where you will learn more about their traditions, daily life of the local people, enjoy the taste of traditional foods, participate in art and craft and at the end of the end of the day, you will be entertained through traditional dances among other activities. In the morning, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth NP with en route game viewing in sector for the tree climbing lions. Later proceed to Mweya Safari Lodge for lunch as you get ready for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. The banks of Kazinga Channel attract big numbers of mammals and birds. Expects big mammals including hippos, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, etc. Both migratory and savanna birds are quite in big numbers along this channel, dinner and an overnight stay.

Wake up for morning breakfast and thereafter, drive to Kasenyi track to catch up with early raisers including the cats as they return from the night hunt. Early game drive, enables you to encounter plenty of mammal’s species gazing and hunting before the sun heats up and they retrieve in their hide outs. On return you will transfer to Kibale with en route visit to the crater lakes region of Ndali and Kasende. In the evening you may go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland for primate and bird watching. Accommodation options: Chimpanzee guest house (budget)/ Turacco Tree tops (Mid-range)/ Papaya Lake lodge/ Crater Safari lodge (luxury).

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing before you proceed to track man’s closest relative of all the apes. The trek may last for 2-4 hours depending in the movement of the chimps. Once you have found them, you will be allowed one hour with them. After, you will return to the lodge for lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure.

This day is for a long drive to via Masindi. The 361 Km distance from to Murchison Falls national park can now take between 4 to 5 hours as the murram road has over time been upgraded. The picturesque drive along the banks of Lake Albert offers beautiful and very scenic view of the Western Rift Valley. You will have lunch enroute as you continue to the park. on arrival, you will proceed to the lodge where you check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure

Enjoy a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to catch a glimpse of some fascinating wildlife species. Expect to encounter lions, jackals, leopard if you are lucky and many other mammals including buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, Topi, elephants, giraffes among others. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon go for boat cruise up to the bottom of the mighty falls for sightseeing and a chance to see crocodiles, hippos and some bird species. In the evening, you will catch the sunset best moments for photoshoot. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast transfer back to Kampala with an en route visit to the top of the falls for sight-seeing. Enroute you may op for Rhino tracking at situated enroute to . After visiting the Rhinos, you continue to Kampala with enroute lunch and on arrival, depending on your flight schedule, you will drop off at the hotel in time for you flight back home or at the drop off point of your choice.
