3-Day 2-Night Okavango Delta and Moremi Highlights

We will pick you up at your lodge, hotel, or airport early in the morning, at 6 or 7 a.m., depending on season. With the early morning enthusiasm, we head directly into the Delta (Xakanaxa and Third Bridge area). We'll visit the breathtaking Xakanaxa lagoon and other parts of the Moremi Game Reserve, as well as the surrounding wildlife-rich areas. Expect to witness elephants, hippos, giraffes, impalas, waterbucks, lions, leopards, wildebeest, Cape buffalo, and African wild dogs, as well as over 200 bird species. Day's activities: Drive from Maun to Okavango, set your camp, late afternoon game drive. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Accommodation: BOGA Campsite (privately reserved for Adventure In The Wild Safaris exclusively).

Today's wake-up call is about 5:30 a.m. Set out early to capture predators on the prowl. You will go on a lengthy early morning game drive before returning to camp about 8:30 a.m. for a superb meal. Depending on the water level, boat trips and mokoro rides may be feasible. This allows us to examine the wildlife and vegetation from a water-level perspective. In addition to this schedule, one boat cruise will take place. Your guide will tell you of the time. In the evening, you can feel even closer to nature. This is when the day's silence gives way to the competition of night screams, as the slightly pitchy, dragging sounds of hyenas approach, towering over the distant, more snarling roars of the lions. Join us around the campfire to hear the guide's childhood anecdotes of growing up around wildlife in the Okavango. The guide and his staff provide detailed explanations and descriptions of the nocturnal sounds.

We take you on an early morning game viewing adventure, before the Kalahari sun kisses the morning dew on the savanna grasslands farewell. On this drive, you may have the opportunity to view "the big cats" (lions, leopards, and cheetahs) hunting in the morning, taking advantage of the cooler weather. Following the short game drive, we will begin our journey back to Maun. This drive is an experience in and of itself, taking us through wildlife-rich areas near the Moremi Game Reserve. The journey concludes at Maun. We'll drop you off at the lodge, hotel, or airport. Otherwise, we will help you with your connecting experience.
