3-Day Meerkat Expedition

A meet and greet will be held the day before our safari, during which we will receive a thorough in-person briefing and address any requests or questions. We depart from Maun with our guide on our way to Planet Baobab, where we will see the game. The drive takes around 3 hours. On our way to Planet Baobab, we stop for a packed breakfast. When you arrive at Planet Baobab, go for a walk with your guide around the surrounding Baobab forest. This immense saltpan desert, the size of Switzerland, was once the world's greatest stretch of fresh water! We then savor our prepared lunch. Enjoy a fiery Botswana sunset with a refreshing drink over a campfire while your guide describes the Makgadikgadi's interesting geological history. Enjoy our dinner and relax for the day. Tent size 3*3.5m with a stretcher bed, veranda, and attached bathroom with toilet, shower, and hand basin. Staff handle camp duties.

Accommodation: Mid-range camping.

After breakfast, go quad biking and bushwalking. Here, you will be able to go up close to meerkats. Quad bikes allow us to explore the vast nothingness of the Makgadikgadi in an environmentally friendly manner, leaving just a shallow track that will be washed away by summer rains. Go where no man has gone before, deep into the uncharted wilderness of the huge and empty saltpans. Open the throttle, close your eyes, and travel, knowing there is nothing to collide with until you go off the edge of the Earth. Transfer to Nxai Pan National Park, which will take roughly 3 hours. You will enjoy your packed lunch on the way. Enjoy a brief game drive before arriving at your campsite for dinner and settling down for the night. Get up early and take a morning drive to see the various wildlife species that call the Nxai pans home while also taking in the breathtaking scenery. You'll stop at Baines Baobab for a cup of coffee or tea and some Rusks. You'll return to camp and have a sumptuous breakfast. Pack up and continue the journey back to Maun. Packed lunch will be enjoyed on the route to Maun, which is approximately a four-hour trip.
