2 Day Rwanda Gorilla Adventure Tour

Your journey begins upon your arrival in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital city. Here, you will be greeted by your tour guide who will provide a brief orientation about the upcoming adventure. If time allows, embark on a short city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to gain insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience. This sobering experience offers a deep understanding of the country’s past and its remarkable recovery. After the city tour, you will set off on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located approximately 2-3 hours from Kigali. The drive takes you through Rwanda’s picturesque countryside, characterized by rolling hills, lush landscapes, and vibrant communities. Enroute you will stop at a local restaurant along the way for a traditional Rwandan meal. Enjoy the local flavors and hospitality as you prepare for the exciting days ahead. Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you will check into your lodge. Start your day with an early breakfast to fuel up for the trek ahead. After, you will head out to the park headquarters by 7:00 AM for briefing on the rules, registration and assignment of gorilla groups. After, you will be accompanied by the ranger guide who will accompany to the starting point of the trek. Embark on your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek can last anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you are tracking. As you navigate through dense forests and challenging terrain, your guides will provide fascinating insights about the flora and fauna of the park. Once you locate the gorillas, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat. Witnessing these majestic creatures up close, observing their behavior and social interactions, is an unforgettable experience. After the trek, return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. Begin your journey back to Kigali. Reflect on the morning’s adventure as you drive through the scenic landscapes, capturing the essence of Rwanda’s natural beauty. In the afternoon, depending on your flight schedule, you might have time for a quick visit to a local market in Kigali. This is a perfect opportunity to purchase souvenirs and interact with local artisans.
