The journey begins with an early morning pick up from the Airport or hotel in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern circuit of national parks. After a scenic drive through the Tanzanian countryside, you'll arrive at Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Upon entering the park, your first game drive will commence with your lunch box. Tarangire’s diverse ecosystem, with its mix of savannah, swamps, and rivers, is home to a variety of wildlife. Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest, as well as predators like lions and leopards. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the over 500 species that inhabit the park. After a full day of wildlife viewing, you will arrive at your lodge or campsite, where you can unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner. Day 2
Drive to Serengeti National Park
The second day begins with an early breakfast before setting off towards the Serengeti National Park. The drive will take you through the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley and past the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you’ll stop at a viewpoint on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater for a breathtaking panorama. As you enter the Serengeti, the vast open plains stretch out before you, teeming with wildlife. The Serengeti is famed for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras move in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the time of year, you may witness this incredible spectacle. You will have your lunch in one of designated spots in the park. Your afternoon game drive will take you deeper into the park, where you’ll have the chance to spot the : lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. The Serengeti’s diverse habitats also support cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, and a multitude of antelope species. As the day ends, you’ll head to your lodge or tented camp, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s sightings over dinner. Day 3
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Rise early for a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti, when the light is perfect for photography and animals are most active. This is the ideal time to spot predators on the hunt and to enjoy the tranquility of the morning before the heat of the day sets in. After the morning game drive, you’ll have breakfast at your camp, with your parked lunch box, you will start the journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you’ll visit a Maasai village, where you can learn about the culture and traditions of this iconic tribe. The Maasai are known for their distinctive dress, vibrant dances, and deep connection to the land. Arriving at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the late afternoon, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The crater, a collapsed volcano, is one of the most stunning natural wonders in Africa, with a high concentration of wildlife including black rhinos, hippos, and a variety of bird species. Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater and Departure
The final day of your adventure begins with an early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. The crater’s floor is a dynamic ecosystem, home to grazing herbivores like zebras, gazelles, and wildebeest, as well as a dense population of predators including lions and hyenas. The diverse landscapes, from the central soda lake to the surrounding forests, create a picturesque backdrop for wildlife viewing. After a memorable morning exploring the crater, you’ll ascend back to the rim for lunch with a view. Then, it’s time to begin the journey back to Arusha. En route, you’ll have opportunities to stop at local markets or cultural sites to purchase souvenirs and learn more about Tanzanian culture. Arriving in Arusha in the late afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure or to your hotel if you’re extending your stay.
